Benefits of Green Smoothies

Green smoothies offer a ton of health benefits, making them a popular choice for those looking to boost their overall well-being. So as you can see, this is why I am in love with green smoothies, Here are just a few benefits of incorporating some of these green smoothies into your diet:

  1. Hydration: Green smoothies are typically made with water or coconut water, which will help keep you hydrated throughout the day. Proper hydration is essential for your health and can improve energy levels and overall well being.
  2. Increased Vegetable Intake: Sometimes it’s hard to get all your veggies in for the day. Making a green smoothie makes it an easy way to increase your veggie intake all in one drink.
  3. Nutrient-Rich: Green smoothies are packed with essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants from the leafy greens like kale and spinach.
  4. Boosted Energy: The natural sugars and carbohydrates that are found in fruits & veggies will provide a quick source of energy that you need throughout your day.

Ingredients Needed

This is a simple green smoothies and only takes a handful of ingredients to make.

  1. Liquid of choice – I used toasted almond coconut milk blend for this recipe, but you can swap out with something else.
  2. Kale – I use bagged kale that is already cut up into small pieces for convenience. No need to break apart and toss out the small stems. Throw those right into the blender.
  3. Mango – Fresh or frozen*
  4. Banana – Fresh or frozen*
  5. Ice

*Note – If using fresh mango or banana, you will want to add in a little bit of ice to get the temperature nice and cold. If using frozen fruit, no need to add ice as it will already create a cold drink. No one wants a warm smoothie.

  • Portion out the kale, mango and bananas and place into a freezer safe zip lock bag.
