Why Do You Need To Use Coconut Oil?

  • Smooth Texture: Coconut oil helps to create a smoother and more fluid consistency when melting chocolate. This is especially useful for dipping fruits, like strawberries or bananas, or for drizzling over desserts
  • Prevents Seizing: Adding coconut oil to chocolate can help prevent it from seizing or becoming lumpy when melted. This is because coconut oil acts as a stabilizer, helping to keep the chocolate smooth and glossy.
  • Lower Melting Point: Coconut oil has a lower melting point than chocolate, so incorporating it can help to reduce the overall melting temperature. This makes it easier to work with and less likely to burn.
  • Healthier Option: Using coconut oil instead of other fats, like butter or vegetable shortening, can be a healthier option, as coconut oil contains beneficial medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) and may have potential health benefits
  • Enhanced Flavor: Coconut oil can impart a subtle hint of coconut flavor to the chocolate, which can complement certain desserts or add a unique twist to the flavor profile.
