In case you haven’t noticed yet, I absolutely LOVE any sort of a green smoothie. It’s my secret obsession really. Not only are they packed with healthy and nutritious fruits and vegetables, but they are so pretty to look at! Something about taking close up pictures of these things, makes me happy. This kiwi banana green smoothie is a sweet treat in the making with only 5 ingredients and takes only 5 minutes to make. Loaded with baby spinach, banana, english cucumber, kiwi and pitted delget noor dates.
I mean, look at these bright green, delicious and JUICY kiwi fruits!
KIWI BANANA GREEN SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS
SPINACH – Now this is where you can get your daily greens in. What better way than in a smoothie. Full of minerals and nutrients that our body needs. Perfect addition to that green smoothie that you can’t even taste. Have an over abundance of spinach and don’t want to throw all that out? Learn how to do that here How To Freeze Kale or Spinach for Green Smoothies.
KIWI – A sweet and juicy kiwi is just delicious to drink
BANANA – Makes for a creamy and thicker texture
CUCUMBER – Full of water and great for added hydration
DATES -For a natural sweetener. I have a giant bag of deglet noor dates that I am trying to use up, but another common one to use is Medjools.
COCONUT WATER – Full of electrolytes and a great liquid choice for a smoothie. And who doesn’t love coconut? I absolutely LOVE using Vita Coco Coconut Water with Pressed Coconut for my smoothies. There is more pulp and fibers from the coconut flesh in pressed coconut water and has more of a coconut flavor. If you’re going to use water, you might as well use coconut water instead.
ICE – If using ingredients that are not frozen, ice is must to not only make your smoothie cold but thicker. If using frozen fruit, ice isn’t really necessary.
SEEDS – I like to add in a tablespoon one of the following for added plant based protein and fiber to an already healthy and delicious green smoothie; hemp seeds, chia seeds, flaxseed, flaxseed meal, or even shredded coconut.

BLENDER TIPS & TRICKS
How to properly add ingredients to a blender for a smooth process.

Second: Add in soft ingredients next (fruits, soft veggies).
Third: Add in harder raw ingredients (fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds).
Lastly: Add in ice
A blender scraper spatula works wonders, to scrape out anything stuck underneath the blades. I don’t know about you but it makes me sad when i see all that goodness stuck underneath and I can’t get it out. You know, that feeling you would get when you would go to Jamba Juice after paying over $6 for a small smoothie only to see how much they left behind in the blender. Sigh. Have no fear. That’s why they have the blender scraper spatula. And by the way, Jamba Juice is a very once in a blue moon thing. That’s a last resort. That’s a my teenage daughter wants a smoothie now and asks you to stop on the way to taking her to the mall sort of thing.
