The cookie with literally 50 names. Some might call them preacher cookies, haystacks or cow patties. I know them as chocolate no bake cookies. Whatever the name might be, these chocolate no bake cookie are by far the easiest cookie you will ever make, that requires absolutely no baking and just a handful of ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen.
This cookie reminds me of my childhood days and will be a recipe that I use and pass down to my kids. If you are craving a taste of nostalgia and something with chocolate & peanut butter goodness, look no further.
INGREDIENTS
– creamy peanut butter
– sugar
– milk
– unsweetened cocoa powder
– vanilla extract
– quick cooking oats
WHAT KIND OF PEANUT BUTTER? I use creamy Jif brand, but you can certainly try crunchy.
WHAT KIND OF VANILLA? I use pure vanilla extract. You can use artificial vanilla extract but nothing about artificial flavor sounds appetizing to me. I use and HIGHLY recommend NIELSEN MASSEY PURE VANILLA EXTRACT. I will not go back to anything else for my baking.
WHAT KIND OF OATS? I use Quaker Quick Cooking oats. You can substitute regular oats, but I find using quick cooking sets up the best.

- Makes about 26 cookies.
- One issue I have come across when making these cookies, if you boil longer than 60 seconds, the cookies can sometimes be dry and will crumble once set. If you boil for less than 60 seconds, the cookies won't set correctly. So it's important you start that times once the mixture comes to a full rolling boil.
- Store in an airtight container
